Links 2001 Newsletter (June 7th, 2001)

A new
update for Links 2001 is now available for download. Read about the highlights
below, but be sure to download and install this patch if you want to be able
to play on the Zone lobbies or in the Links Tour. Also, just
a little reminder that the Links Country Club will go live on June 18, so
stay tuned for that!

Links
1.21 Update Now Available
The
1.21 update corrects a number of issues that Linksters were having. Some of
the changes include:

A
modem-to-modem connection bug that would not allow users to connect and
play was fixed.

The
verify-score code was modified so that users see "Easy, Medium, or
Hard" pin positions instead of a listing of all the pins used. When
using "Custom" positions, each hole's position is still
displayed.

A bug
in the sound code that caused a crash when grouping wavs together was
fixed.
-
Links
Tour now allows tournaments using all converted courses.

Pin
positions were added to both the printing of the in-game stroke scorecard
and the text scorecard.
-
In
rare circumstances the course manager loaded the wrong golf course. It now
loads the correct course.
-
If you
install the Links Expansion Pack after installing the 1.21 patch, you may
find that some of your previously installed courses do not show up in the
course list. In this event, re-run the 1.21 patch.

The
Expansion Pack provides a new stdterrain.lib file that contains terrains
used in the Expansion Pack courses. User created courses using these
new terrains will not display properly on systems using the older
stdterrain.lib. This patch will update the stdterrain.lib file to
allow all users to view these new terrains correctly.

be sure to consult the readme file included with the patch for all the
details.
Update
Required for Zone Lobbies and Links Tour
Be
sure to download and install the Links 2001 1.21 update if you intend on
playing on the Zone lobbies. If you participate in the Links Tour, the
update will be required for play when the new tour week starts on
June 14. The Links Tour statistics will be reset at this
time.
